Valerie Hurwitz

Managing Director, Technology Strategy & Enterprise Transformation

Valerie Hurwitz is a Managing Director in Perrin & Co.'s Technology Strategy & Enterprise Transformation practice. She advises executive teams on aligning technology, systems, business processes, and organizational capabilities with broader business strategy. Her work helps organizations determine where technology can improve operating efficiency, simplify workflows, strengthen information flow, support growth, and create more scalable ways of operating.

Valerie brings deep experience across B2B enterprise software, enterprise architecture, product development, systems integration, process improvement, and technology leadership. A central theme throughout her career has been translating between business strategy and technology—understanding what an organization is trying to accomplish operationally and then determining how technology can best support that objective.

Previously, Valerie served as Software Development Manager at Accutech Systems Corporation, where she led software developers and UI/UX professionals during a period of significant organizational growth. Her responsibilities included maintaining an enterprise architecture roadmap tied directly to business strategy, directing integrations with vendors and strategic partners, overseeing discovery and development of new products, implementing Scrum, working with client CTOs on technology and API matters, and participating in SOC 2 audits and FFIEC examinations.

Valerie's technical experience gives her the ability to evaluate technology decisions from more than a management perspective. Earlier in her career, she worked directly in software development on an enterprise trust-accounting platform processing millions of financial records annually. She also redesigned a client migration process that reduced data errors from more than 100 per migration to fewer than five.

Her advisory approach, however, begins with the business rather than the software. Valerie works with management teams to understand existing processes, systems, pain points, organizational requirements, and strategic objectives before recommending a technology path. Depending upon the circumstances, the appropriate solution may involve optimizing an existing system, selecting new enterprise software, integrating disconnected platforms, automating workflows, applying artificial intelligence, redesigning a business process, or developing a custom technology solution.

This makes Valerie's practice particularly complementary to Perrin & Co.'s broader financial and operational advisory capabilities. When another Perrin & Co. Managing Director identifies an inefficient financial process, reporting limitation, operational bottleneck, technology constraint, or automation opportunity, Valerie can be brought into the engagement to evaluate the underlying process and technology environment and help management determine an appropriate path forward.

Her experience also encompasses technology roadmaps, enterprise architecture, software and vendor evaluation, product strategy, implementation planning, organizational readiness, change management, and technology-enabled operational improvement. Her technical background includes C#/.NET, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Vue.js, React.js, AWS, enterprise APIs, Agile/Scrum, and AI-assisted development tools. This technical depth allows her to communicate effectively with both executive leadership and technical teams while keeping recommendations tied to business outcomes.

At Perrin & Co., Valerie works across the firm's multidisciplinary platform to help clients turn identified business and operational opportunities into practical technology strategies. Her role strengthens Perrin & Co.'s ability to move beyond identifying a financial or operational problem and help clients determine how systems, software, automation, data, and technology can improve execution and organizational performance.
