Jeff Gale

Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Development & Commercial Strategy

Jeff Gale is a Managing Director in Perrin & Co.'s Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Development & Commercial Strategy practice. He serves as the firm's senior advisor for mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, deal structuring, investment evaluation, commercial negotiations, and strategic partnerships, working with ownership groups, boards, and executive teams on the transactions and commercial decisions that shape a company's direction.

Jeff brings nearly three decades of experience across corporate development, M&A, structured finance, project finance, commercial strategy, and international business development. His career includes senior roles and engagements with bp Alternative Energy, Chevron, Koch Industries, Enron Energy Services, and Trilogy, along with independent international consulting work. Across these organizations, he has evaluated, structured, negotiated, and executed complex transactions on both the buy side and the sell side, spanning acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and long-term commercial agreements.

At bp Alternative Energy, Jeff worked across hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and solar, leading investment evaluation, project economics, and commercial structuring for large-scale energy investments. He supported the 2024 acquisition of Lightsource bp, including the post-acquisition integration of investment-governance processes — experience that informs his practical view of what makes an acquisition succeed after the closing documents are signed.

At Koch Industries, Jeff focused on structured finance and acquisition financing, M&A valuation, and cross-border transactions, negotiating major debt facilities that included a $1 billion acquisition facility and a $100 million greenfield project facility. Earlier, at Enron Energy Services, he led a commercial structuring team, negotiated large commercial transactions, and restructured significant energy contracts during bankruptcy proceedings — an education in transaction discipline under genuinely difficult conditions. At Chevron and through his independent consulting practice, he originated strategic opportunities, developed commercial structures, and led negotiations across a range of corporate development initiatives.

Jeff's work has taken him across the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore, China, Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa, giving him firsthand experience in cross-border commercial strategy, international negotiations, and the practical realities of doing business across markets and cultures. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Tulsa with a concentration in Finance and studies in international business, is a native English speaker, conversational in Russian, and has pursued advanced studies in Italian.

Jeff's approach reflects a consistent conviction: successful M&A and corporate development are built on disciplined investment analysis, thoughtful commercial structuring, sound negotiation, and practical execution. He helps clients pursue transactions that are not only well priced, but well structured, well negotiated, and genuinely executable.

Jeff's corporate development, commercial strategy, transaction, and post-acquisition integration experience supports Perrin & Co.'s Interim Executive Management work.
